    No sound using Tv set as monitor with HDMI cablevision


    I use my television as a monitor for my computer and the sound has suddenly stopped working. The picture is fine merely there'due south no sound, it says that the "Spatial sound" is off and doesn't give me an option to plough the sound on for anything but headphones. Nothing I've seen online seems to be for windows 10 and I really need assistance cause I need sound on my reckoner for school.

    Hello catseatyourface Welcome to tenforums :)

    You tin can check what sound source you have agile,
    past right clicking the sound icon at systemtray and press Sounds.

    Or you tin can go to, Control Panel\Hardware and Audio > Sound

    From there printing Playback tab and change to the source ur Goggle box has.
    ( in my example my current source is my sound blastser )

    if you change the hdmi port on the telly does that change anything?

    if you use a diffrent hdmi cablevision from the Tv to the Pc does that change anything?

    if yous connect something else to the electric current hdmi cable you lot utilise with the Tv and Pc, like a console or a apple tv set / laptop / intel nuc / other devices, practise they get sound ?

    I recollect so? Information technology doesn't say that exactly, it says "NVIDIA Virtual Sound Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)".

    What video carte do you have? I'grand not sure if "NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)" is the same as "NVIDIA Loftier Definition Audio." Take you tried updating to the latest graphics drivers?

    I'm assuming no NVIDIA devices bear witness up in Playback Devices?
